Job Description:

Our sourcing team partners with the business to ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services that enable the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines, and Animal Health products. We collaborate internationally and are grouped into center-led categories and regional operating teams.

Position Description:

The Senior Specialist, Energy & Utilities and Renewable Energy Procurement & Sourcing will report to the Director, Energy & Utilities and Renewable Energy Procuremen t and in addition will provide assistance/support to the Energy category and its stakeholder community.

Partnering with leaders throughout the organization, the primary goals of this role are to:

  • Participates in Global Supplier Strategy Council’s team discussion to shape sourcing strategies and options. Ability to contribute to the team discussion and work along with the global teams to develop options and alternative solutions.

  • Category management ensuring compliance to the procurement process and supporting the design and implementation of sourcing strategies for the energy/renewable energy category.

  • Lead project execution and drive sourcing activities (RFI, RFP, e-sourcing, Supplier onboarding, Due Diligence, Negotiation, Contracting).

  • Lead and conduct project progress meetings with stakeholders and partners (External)

  • Stakeholder management and communication, proactively seeks to engage business partners and stakeholders to understand their short- and longer-term strategies.

  • Drive continuous improvement to increase efficiencies and effectiveness while ensuring compliance

  • Manage key supplier performance against business requirements.

  • Stay well informed of the category market knowledge, development and data analysis to gain critical insights to drive selection of sourcing strategies and continuous improvement activities.

  • Collaborate with the Centralized Function team to ensure compliance and adherence to our company's procurement processes.

  • Achieve cost control, cost reduction and cost containment targets to achieve annual reduction for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

  • Work closely with the GSMG Data Analytics team to undertake data extractions from the various sources across the company and suppliers and enhance ease of access to data.

  • Create visualizations including dashboards that are easy to interpret and communicate, allowing the energy category lead, key stakeholders, and suppliers to better interact with data and to use the data to drive decisions on programs improvements.

  • Support project management activities (manage project plans, track, and follow-up on actions).

  • Ensure that all contracts for Energy & Utilities are duly signed and stored in time to ensure the assurance of supply for all company sites.

Required experience and skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s in Engineering, Science or equivalent with 3 to 5 years of experience in regional procurement role

  • Intermediate proficiency in Energy & Utilities procurement including Category Strategy Development, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, Project Management, and a good understanding of global energy markets.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong follow-up skills and attention to details

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders.

  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage stakeholder expectation and people management without authority.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with structured process improvement thinking mindset.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to extract relevant insights to develop sourcing strategies and support negotiations.

  • Ability to work in environments with potential conflicting priorities.

  • Self-starter and able to work in dynamic environment, adaptive, flexible, and able to multitask.

  • Experience in conducting business reviews and develop the communication plan.

  • Proven success in developing and executing sourcing strategies.

  • Effective time management skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, conflict management

  • System and Tools - Ariba;Experience in using the Ariba tool, & knowledge of the modules; sourcing, contracting, vendor master data is preferrable. Ability to perform various tasks and activities using Ariba, such as creating and managing purchase orders, generating reports, and maintaining supplier data.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$91,600.00 - $144,100.00
