Synchrony VP, ACM Platform Architect in Stamford, Connecticut

Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The ACM Platform Architect is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the ACM platform and the apps deployed on it. The architect monitors events inside and outside the ACM system to ensure maximum system uptime. The architect manages the application support (Run) team and sponsors contractors to fill application support roles. The architect provides design direction to multiple agile build teams. They provides leadership and technical expertise for development and support of the IBM Advanced Case Manager platform.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • First-line manager for 30 contractor resources assigned to the ACM Run team

  • First-line manager for 6 contractor resources assigned to the ACM 'Shield' build team

  • Designate a Daily Scrum leader from among the ACM Run team members

  • Design and implement the ACM change control process, ensuring that proposed changes are consistent and accurate.

  • Move Change tickets from Plan state to Authorize state in ServiceNow.

  • Work closely with Synchrony and Supplier technical resources and product managers to deploy built increments to production.

  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and provide recommendations to the development team

  • Responsible for maintenance of the business continuity plan for disaster recovery

  • Drive 5Why root cause analysis and ensure consistently high availability of the system for the business to ensure they meet their objectives

  • Identify new opportunities to drive improvements and simplifications through innovation

  • Ensure compliance with security, architecture, and technology standards

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years of experience in one or multiple IT areas OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED 7 years' experience

  • 7+ years of experience leading a technical team colocated in multiple time zones

  • 7+ years of programming experience in Java, JavaScript, and SQL

  • 7+ years of experience and IBM Certification in IBM Advanced Case Manager

  • 7+ years of experience building Widgets, Plugins, and Solutions on IBM Advanced Case Manager

  • 5+ years of experience administering IBM WebSphere

  • 4+ years of experience administering PCF web services

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Superior oral and written communication in English

  • Willing to work flexible shift timings to be able to respond to emergencies

Desired Characteristics:

  • Certifications or Trainings in IBM Filenet and IBM Advanced Case Manager

  • Strong working knowledge of the Financial Industry and Consumer Lending.

  • Ability to achieve results in a cross-functional matrix organization involving multiple technologies, personnel, and processes.

  • Experience using other NLU/NLP systems such as Siri, Alexa, Google Home, IBM Watson Conversation, api.ai, or Microsoft LUIS

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
