Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Staff - Public in San Luis Obispo, California. The position involves a variety of responsibilities in the public accounting domain, with a focus on tax-related tasks. The selected candidate will be part of a team that ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, conducts research and planning according to applicable tax laws, minimizes tax liability through informed application of laws and regulations, and supervises tax staff.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare tax returns with increasing complexity

• Estimate tax for individuals and corporations

• Collect data from clients for the return preparation process

• Review less complex tax returns

• Conduct research on tax issues of increased complexity

• Respond to moderately complex IRS notices

• Assist with the preparation of communication to clients regarding compliance-related issues

• Identify tax planning ideas and share ideas with management

• Follow established business processes and practices and help identify ways to improve them

• Maintain confidentiality in all client matters

• Develop a basic understanding and working knowledge of various tax programs and requisite software, along with internal workflow and procedures. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in tax and property tax is required

• Strong knowledge and understanding of compliance and GAAP Accounting

• Prior experience in public accounting tax and tax accounting is a plus

• Familiarity with general accounting and general ledger

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is advantageous

• CPA certification is necessary

• Must possess a current CPA license.
