Trane in Virginia is hiring a Construction Site Superintendent! This position is eligible for a flexible Remote schedule and requires 80% travel to local construction job sites, all travel costs are paid. Candidates can be located anywhere within a 90 mile radius of Roanoke, VA.

Job Summary:

The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for all daily project activities as well as project financials, schedule creation, documentation administration, implementation of designs, management of subcontractors, and daily customer interface for all assigned projects. You will lead the project team through all facets of the project and will operate as the established point of contact for stakeholders. The Construction Site Superintendent manages a portfolio of projects that often require travel and overnight stays. Our projects often include 1st and 2nd shift work and sometimes require third shift activities. They also may contain both smaller and larger multi- building or complex construction projects. The Construction Site Superintendent is knowledgeable on current job market and pricing strategies and has the ability to support sales functions with developing scope. This is a critical role on our team with responsibilities encompassing field supervision and project management support.

Responsibilities:

• Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex contracting applications.

• Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out.

• Financially manages all aspects of projects including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost / revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collections support, applied cost, and oversees preparation and communications for monthly backlog review with leaders.

• Examines and reviews contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.

• Utilizes properly qualified subcontractors, oversees subcontractor RFQ process, awards subcontracts, manages subcontractor execution, and collaborates with subcontractors to establish communication guidelines for project progress, project meetings, billing expectations and project safety.

• Responsible for change order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes and closing orders.

• Records parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.

• Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintaining files.

• Other functions as assigned/needed.

Requirements:

• Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Project Management Degree preferred, High School Diploma required

• Experience with general construction managing & supervising field teams including subcontractors

• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:

• DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years

• This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, walking and climbing ladders. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs.

• Must be able to access rooftops comfortably and routinely with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, and occasionally, up to 50+ feet. This role may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, risk of electrical shock, noisy operating equipment and other variable environmental conditions based on location.

Base Pay Range: $70,000-100,000 yearly
