Job Responsibilities/Duties

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) seeks an Operations Support Specialist who will evaluate and provide advice and technical support to resolve conditions adverse to facility operations. This position will conduct investigations, facilitate evaluations, write cause analysis and corrective action plans for the SST Retrieval & Closure, Tank Farm Projects, Production Operations and Maintenance departments. The Operations Support Specialist will be a self-directed individual capable of interpreting standards and specifications, policies and procedures and interfacing with multiple Tank Operations Contract (TOC) organizations to resolve issues.

The Operations Support Specialist's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Participate or facilitate event investigation activities, AR/CR resolution, Cause Analysis Teams (Root & Apparent), assessments, and participate/facilitate in special initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities, LEAN process improvement events, complete statistical and qualitative data analysis for trending purposes.

This position provides support to operations management by providing advice and technical support on the following:

  • Technical writing/editing of documents and reports (Assessments, Apparent Cause Analysis, Root Cause Analysis);

  • Document Reviews;

  • Administrative Procedure Controls;

  • Technical Procedure Compliance;

  • Conduct of Operations;

  • Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) / OSHA Hazardous Energy Control; and

  • Performs Assessments.

Required Qualifications

Grade 16:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Engineering, Safety, Communications, Construction Management, or related discipline; and

  • Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Grade 17:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Engineering, Safety, Communications, Construction Management, or related discipline; and

  • Six (6) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

*Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Grade 18:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Engineering, Safety, Communications, Construction Management, or related discipline; and

  • Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

*Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Safety or Radiological Controls.

  • Experience conducting investigations on a wide range of issues. Ability to interpret and understand information from multiple sources, evaluate the credibility of multiple concepts and ability to analyze data and issues. Ability to write investigation reports and create appropriate corrective actions.

  • Proven ability to communicate with subject matter experts, peers, management, support organizations and stakeholders.

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Pro, Visio.

Grade 16:

Hiring Range Minimum: $86,138

Hiring Range Maximum: $108,513

Grade 17:

Hiring Range Minimum: $94,650

Hiring Range Maximum: $119,250

Grade 18:

Hiring Range Minimum: $104,175

Hiring Range Maximum: $131,425

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
