Electronic Environments Sales Estimator in New York, New York

Job Overview

The Sales Estimator works within EENY’s sales team, they are responsible for building proposals for potential and repeat clients . The estimator is responsible for generating and proofreading new client proposals . The estimator will validate material lists and create accurate narrative summaries and work-flow descriptions related to each project. The Sales Estimator will work closely with the design and engineering team to fulfill customer needs and provid e design input for project s . This is a hybrid position with the ability for remote work following 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Contribute and own all aspects of the proposal creation process, including but not limited to :

  • T echnical considerations .

  • C ontent & formatting within ConnectWise/Sell, using additional resources as required .

  • Use templates and libraries in Sell to maximize efficiency when creating proposals in ConnectWise. Assist Sales Manager in maximizing use of these tools.

  • Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for AV, network, and telephone systems based on survey notes and plan markups .

  • Support s ales and p roject m anagers by providing input for project and design work as requested .

  • Assist in creation of the initial project design as part of the proposal process based on sales information, and initial meetings with clients/architect/builders.

  • Maintain and update all pertinent plans and documentation within the scope of the sales team .

  • Work closely with sales and design team to understand preferred product lines and items from manufacturers; meet regularly with internal parties to determine any changes to the preferred item list.

  • Work closely with s ales & design team to understand legacy systems and determine upgrade options .

  • Communicate cross functionally to gather i nfo rmation to execute proposals accurately and expeditiously, alerting management to potential delays.

    Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in the support of AV projects, preferably in home automation.

  • Demonstrated experience using project management software and tools. Prior experience using ConnectWise a plus.

  • Experience interacting with stakeholders at all levels; over communicator.

  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through.

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and able to multi-task conflicting critical requests.

  • Should be equally comfortable with long term planning and day-to-day progress tracking and execution.

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Have a solid grasp of customer success and ample experience developing client relationships, working with clients directly to find solutions.

  • Demonstrated desire for continuous learning and improvement.
