What will you do?

We’re hiring a Sr. Pricing Advisor who will assess pricing requests for the sales managed segment of our US business, a critical growth engine for Ship with Amazon (SWA). This role will primarily involve making recommendations based on shipper inputs, implementation of established pricing strategy, and industry knowledge. Frequent written and oral communication across stakeholders and leadership to drive decisions will also be a critical element of the role. We believe that pricing can be a core differentiator, therefore inputs for enhancements to the current process will be also key for this position.

Who are you?

You should have a hands-on approach, operational inclination, solid leadership skills and the ability to build and leverage relationships across a wide stakeholder group to drive consensus on recommendations. As this role involves close collaboration with the business development team, finance, senior leadership and other key internal stakeholders, you will need to be comfortable with communications, presentations, supporting your points of view, and being vocal on relevant business questions as needed. The ideal candidate is analytical, resourceful, customer-focused and team oriented, with clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. You are highly autonomous and have a proven track record of taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Key job responsibilities

• Responsible for approvals and / or recommendations of pricing requests in the sales managed segment for the US parcel market segment

• Leveraging inputs from the Business Development team (including shipper package level information), determine if requested pricing supports our current pricing strategy or if adjustments are need to meet those requirements

• Cross-functional collaboration with Business Development, Finance, and Operations, to assess impact of account and gather additional inputs (if needed) to support optimal pricing

• Effective cross-functional written and oral communication on recommendations that can influence the final decision, including clear communications to senior leadership

• Use competitive intelligence to support recommendations, assessing if pricing proposals are aligned to internal and external benchmarks

• Provides inputs to enhance and improve the current pricing process by identifying areas of opportunity, e.g., input fields, interface tools, pricing engines, KPIs / metrics, and other key elements within the approval process

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Pricing experience is required

  • History of dealing with data that ranges from detailed to more ambiguous, successfully addressing the latter through industry knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Experience in pricing for the transportation or US domestic parcel market segment

  • Extensive knowledge of revenue management principles such as revenue and cost drives by shipper profile

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
