PeopleReady of Mount Vernon, IN is now hiring Fire Watchers.  Firewatchers are needed for a long-term project on a large site in Mt Vernon. You will receive specialized training and overtime is available!

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $15 / hour

What you'll be doing as a Fire Watcher:

• Watch out for fire hazards in the workplace while work is performed by other employees

• Be prepared to operate fire extinguishers, hydrants, fixed monitors, and hose carts at anytime

• In the event of fire, extinguish it immediately or turn a fire alarm on, notify plant control room

• Ensure safety of person in confined spaces

• Keep visual and voice contact with other employees

• Inspect the entire work area and look for potential release of flammable vapors or liquids

• Follow all safety procedures

Job requirements:

• Ability to work in hot environment

• Ability to work in foul smelling conditions

• Not afraid of Heights

• Background check and drug screening required
