Overview

Provides efficient, effective and timely electrical engineering expertise to design and program management of Maxwell/Gunter AFB facility projects as part of Civil Engineering Services Branch’s staff. Interfaces with customer-civil engineering/contracting management personnel as required resolving Maxwell/Gunter AFB engineering services customer support issues. Accomplishes other tasks as required to ensure effective contractor civil engineering services customer support to Maxwell/Gunter AFB. Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment. Responds to emergency repair calls to restore operations upon notice during regular hours or after duty on-call hours .

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, replaces and installs electrical systems to include, but not limited to, switches, fixtures, motors, transformers, controllers, associated electronic components, distribution and wiring.

• Troubleshoots and replaces components on appliances to include stoves, dishwashers, ice machines, and refrigerators.

• Accomplishes periodic inspections, recurring maintenance requirements and associated documentation. Maintains systems to conform to written guidance and applicable changes.

• Performs tests and maintenance on cathodic protection and grounding systems.

• Maintains required operating forms and records and assures proper use of all assigned shop equipment. Responsible for on-the-job training as required.

• Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications

• High School/GED and three (3) years of additional education and/or experience.

• Must have a Valid State Driver's License

• Experience

• Three (3) years' Electrical Maintenance

• Skills

• Must be able to troubleshoot, repairs, replaces and installs electrical systems as well as stoves, dishwashers, and refrigerators

• Extracting engineering data from various prescribed but non-standardized sources, processing the data following well-defined methods and presenting the data in prescribed form.

• Must have strong communication, and customer service skills and be self-driven.

• Must be able to interpret Military Instructions, Directives and Publications

• Cost estimating skills for small interior and exterior finish repairs and contracts is a plus.

• Able to read and interpret Work Orders, parts requests, drawings/schematics/blueprints and manuals in order to accomplish assigned duties.
