JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Harrisburg seeks an Associate Director of First Year Admission to perform essential duties of admissions such as meet with students, correspond with students relating to questions, evaluate credentials and courses, present at information sessions both on and off campus to prospective students, and represent the university in fairs and visits. This position has an added focus of international recruitment.

This role includes strategic planning, assisting with a unique application process, and serving a diverse population. Additional duties include support for CRM systems, management of campus service area responsibilities, service as the campus and college’s Adult Learner/Military Coordinator and collaborating with campus partners to support enrollment initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned admissions activities relating to decision-making process, such as providing counseling to students and parents. This includes correspondence via email, slate (CRM), and telephone conversations. Meet with students and families on a regular basis.

  • Administer specific programs and activities with appropriate University personnel as directed. Meet with domestic and international prospective students in advising on admissions requirements and verifying documents. Present prospective and accepted student programs to both domestic and international students.

*Lead liaison activities with secondary schools and colleges in the assigned area to include arranging University representation at college nights, high school visits, etc. Manage campus Service Area requirements. Coordinate yearly counselor reception to include regional high school counselors, community college advisors, and other constituencies.

*Support for CRM systems, serve as the campus and college’s Adult Learner/Military Coordinator and collaborate with campus partners to support enrollment initiatives.

*Supervise Admissions Counselor staff.

*Duties as assigned.

*Serve on committees; attend meetings and related activities; speak at meetings, conferences, groups, etc.

  • *Participate in recruiting events on campus including targeted yield receptions. Assist with other admissions events on campus such as open houses and accepted student programs. Serve as the In-Counselor on a rotating basis by conducting the daily campus visit PPT presentation and meeting with walk-ins.

Education:

  • Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum Experience- 6+ years of relevant experience

  • Equivalency- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    This position requires successsful completion of the following three publicly available clearances:

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance

  • Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Background Check

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$56,200.00 - $81,500.00
