We have a rapidly growing fluvial geomorphology team providing our technical expertise to a diverse client and project-base and have an opportunity for a Senior or Principal Fluvial Geomorphologist to join our team. We are flexible on location and can offer a hybrid arrangement office and home working.

  • Fluvial geomorphology studies for a diverse project portfolio

  • Supporting River Condition Assessment for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)

  • Conceptual design for river restoration schemes

  • Water Framework Directive compliance assessments

  • Supporting the fluvial geomorphology technical lead, taking the technical lead role and supporting technical development of team members

YOUR TEAM

  • Our work is currently expanding rapidly into the exciting BNG for Rivers area where we are providing technical leadership in the delivery of the Rivers component of BNG

  • Our current portfolio of geomorphology work includes:

  • Fluvial audits to inform catchment management options to improve river form and function

  • Hydroecological impact and river restoration projects for a range of clients, but with a particular focus on water companies

  • Erosion risk assessments and monitoring on active dynamic rivers

  • Geomorphology and WFD assessment of flood alleviation schemes and major infrastructure projects

  • Exploring natural flood management and natural capital opportunities

  • Channel design for river diversions

We provide our technical services to a wide range of clients including water, rail, highways, energy, Local Authority, aggregate, housing sectors.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A relevant postgraduate degree would be desirable (e.g. geomorphology, environmental science, catchment management) plus relevant experience or PhD in geomorphology

  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution, or ability to demonstrate active pursual of chartership

  • A proven track record of applied Fluvial Geomorphology, including demonstrable knowledge of river types, sediment dynamics, and hydraulics

  • Excellent understanding of fluvial geomorphological processes

  • Experience of the planning system and contribution to ES water chapters and WFD assessments

  • Experience of project and budget management
