Description

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in a permanent role in Kent, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. You will also be expected to ensure accurate financial reporting and prepare budgets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our financial operations and requires a strong understanding of accrual accounting. This position will report to the Finance and Administration Manager and does not currently have any direct reports.

Responsibilities:

• Full-cycle accounting, including overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger

• Conduct account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation

• Manage bank reconciliations and monitor financial transactions

• Ensure accurate financial reporting and prepare budgets

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

• Handle month-end close processes

• Train and potentially supervise other accounting staff

• Continually update skills and knowledge in government accounting practices

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this position is $90,000-$102,000. Benefits offered for the position include 100% paid medical/dental/vision insurance for the employee and all dependents, 12 days of paid sick leave, 12 days of PTO in the first year, and 14 paid holidays. This position also includes participation in the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) Plan.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management

• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Accrual Accounting principles

• Ability to prepare Financial Reporting

• Experience in preparing Budgets

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or extensive relevant work experience.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or relevant certification is desirable, but not required.
