Skookum is seeking a talented and motivated Assembly operator with a professional attitude. The Assembler II is an Advanced level position that performs complex production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Performs work using hand tools and various equipment to assemble parts. Responsible for following drawings and detailed work instructions to assemble high-quality aerospace components. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Assembles production parts using Drill Press, Rivet Press, Arbor Press, Manual Mills and /hand Tools to attach parts or hardware in complex sub-assembly components. Uses equipment to install and swage bearings. Bonds parts using adhesives or sealants to customer specifications. Ability to learn and operate Honing equipment to size holes for bearing installations. Responsible for following drawings and detailed work instructions to assemble high-quality aerospace components. Self-inspects work to ensure quality defects are mitigated. Promotes "clean as you go" tool control program and FOD awareness. Utilizes a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers, bore gages, check pins and micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements. Maintains dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral. Provide input in team activities that encompass manufacturing producibility. Support AS9100 audits and ensure compliance to established standards. May be exposed to loud noises, confined spaces, dust, or fumes. Work from and follow process specifications, work orders, blueprints, schedules, and verbal/written instruction. Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the plant floor. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Qualifications: 0-3 Years experience Aerospace/Commercial Manufacturing Trade School Certification preferred. Strong problem solving, social, and oral/written communication skills. Fundamental understanding of shop routers, Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, and product acceptance criteria through operator verification. Familiarity with aircraft nomenclature and configuration is a plus. Familiarity with ISO9001:2015/AS9100D is preferred. Demonstrated ability
