Kelly Science & Clinical has a new, hybrid, direct hire opportunity for a SDS Author in Jeffersonville, IN!

Type: Hybrid

A Direct Hire Opportunity

Shift: Mon.-Fri. 8:00am-5:00pm

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Maintain expertise in North American, European, and other international hazard communication standards like HazCom 2012, WHIMS 2015, and CLP. Author and classify safety data sheets (SDS) and generate GHS compliant labels for various regions using WERCs software.

  • Oversee the maintenance of the WERCs authoring system, including rule writing and data management.

  • Review and classify raw materials and products based on toxicological data and ensure compliance with transportation regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG).

  • Maintain an internal hazard database and manage regulatory compliance tasks including TSCA and international chemical inventories.

  • Collaborate with global subsidiaries to ensure compliance for exports, and monitor regulatory changes that could impact the company.

  • Participate in regulatory conferences and assist in company-wide regulatory trainings.

  • Respond to customer and regulatory inquiries, and support environmental management teams in maintaining global GHS compliance and coordinating SDS authoring and consumer compliance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a related field

  • Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical skills.

  • Experience with IATA, DOT, IMDG, and knowledge of REACH, CLP, GHS regulations preferred.

  • Familiarity with WERCS authoring system is advantageous.

*Includes occasional travel (at least 20%) on-site for training
