Team (Project) Introduction 9th Way Insignia is looking for a Zero Trust Architect to work with the Veterans Administration (VA) to support the governance pillar in creating, implementing, and providing support for the necessary requirements and outcomes of the Zero Trust assessments (ZTA). 9thWay Insignia will provide iterative updates for pillar use cases while accounting for a risk based and dependency-based priority of capabilities.

Professional Level Information: The Zero Trust Architect aligns within 9thWay Insignia as a Level 4H Hybrid Manager/Lead. A Hybrid Manager at 9th Way Insignia accomplishes department objectives by managing staff and processes and evaluating department activities. Focuses on leading a team and working hands-on with projects involving technology. Hybrid Managers require skills and qualifications such as exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Functional Job (LCAT) Information: A Zero Trust Architect has extensive experience in the design and development of Client Server and Web Enabled Corporate applications including network topology. Must be well versed in Object Oriented tools and techniques. Must have thorough knowledge of data modeling skills using automated tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership at an enterprise level to migrate legacy systems to a Zero Trust Architecture for the agency. Over 100 systems will need to be migrated to ZTA.
  • Supports ZTA management team in recommending and creating technical solutions
  • Will recommend security requirements and provide architectural direction to improve cybersecurity
  • Will work with the Agency Enterprise Architect
  • Provides system engineering and architectural design support services

Requirements:

  • Master of Science degree (or higher) in one of the following: computer science, electronics engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or cybersecurity or 8 years of additional experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience securing cloud-based systems
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and technical skills as will be working with important stakeholders at all levels.
