Position Overview :

As a Clinical Informaticist, you will play a key role in the successful implementation and optimization of healthcare information systems that support clinical operations, research, and patient care. Working closely with healthcare providers, administrators, and IT professionals, you will leverage your expertise and knowledge of clinical workflows to drive the effective utilization of technology in healthcare settings. This ambulatory focused position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to transforming the ambulatory delivery of healthcare through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with clinical teams, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document clinical workflows and information needs

  • Design, develop, and implement technology solutions to improve clinical processes and enhance patient care across various departments

  • Serve as a liaison between clinical and technical departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the implementation process

  • Provide training and support to healthcare providers and staff members on the proper use of information systems and technologies

  • Collect, analyze, and present data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in healthcare informatics

  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams and projects to drive quality improvement initiatives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Hawaii State license as Registered Nurse

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

  • Two (2) years nursing experience required; experience in an acute care or ambulatory primary care/specialty (i.e. cardiac, geriatrics, oncology, etc.) highly desirable.

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Informatics preferred

  • Nursing/Informatics certification preferred

  • Experience to demonstrate: o Knowledge and demonstrated experience with electronic medical records (preferably Epic), clinical informatics, computer word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications. o Strong sense of customer service to consistently and effectively address business and clinical partners’ needs. o Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities and direction in projects and core work. o Enjoys participating in a collaborative work environment partnering with colleagues inside and outside of own department. o Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. o Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience working with clinical informatics projects, understanding of clinical operations, including experience with Electronic Medical/Health Record Systems (EMR/EHR) and data (preferably Epic) preferred.

  • Experience with health care regulatory and clinical quality measurements frameworks such as NCQA HEDIS, Meaningful Use, PQRS, MIPS, OPPE, CORE measures, etc. preferred.

  • Experience with, or exposure to, information technology best practices and application of standard information technology data and programming principles, theories, and concepts (e.g. requirements documentation, source code control, change management, promotions, and segregation of duties) preferred.

  • Experience to demonstrate broad understanding of health information technologies preferred.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, sitting.

• Frequent: walking.

• Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds (e.g. folders/paper products/office supplies), reaching above, at and below shoulder level.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
