ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for planning construction projects and overseeing their progress from start to finish in a timely and cost-effective manner. key responsibilities will include budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects. As the Construction Manager, will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. This position requires keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills, ensure all construction activities align with the established timeline and budget. Experience in project management is be crucial for coordinating resources, resolving any issues that may arise, and delivering successful construction projects.

Supports projects located at Cement manufacturing plants located throughout the US,required national travel 40-70%. Position based out of either Dundee, MI, Florence, CO, or Hagerstown, MD, relocation would be required to one of these locations.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Safety performance of all project activities.

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.

  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.

  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.

  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.

  • Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.

  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.

  • Review the work progress on daily basis.

  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.

  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.

  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.

  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.

  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree

Field of Study Preferred: Construction management, architecture, engineering or related field

Required Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven working experience in construction management

Required Training/Certifications: MSHA certification or ability to acquire within a reasonable time.

Licenses Preferred: Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred

Required Computer and Software Skills: Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)

Travel Requirements: 40-70% national travel

Additional Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.

  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.

  • Excellent time and project management skills.

  • Strong knowledge of structural design codes.

  • Authorized to work in the United states.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
