Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a Fire Alarm Estimator in our Fort Wayne, IN office, performing Fire Alarm work in several areas of the construction industry. This role will be estimating and doing site visits as well as some marketing and sales tasks for low voltage electrical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers of Fire Protection Alarm contracts by scheduling sales calls, following up on leads and utilizing outlined marketing strategies.

  • Estimate and quote small projects including fixed price service as required in addition to large projects ranging from $100k-$1M+.

  • Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of company offerings.

  • Close sufficient sales to exceed sales plan objectives.

  • Familiar with reading blueprints, understanding current fire alarm, VESDA, and special hazard systems and components.

  • Develop a positive ongoing relationship with existing and new customers, general contractors and end users.

  • Ability to build new business associations / relationships and grow the Fire Protection Business

  • Other Duties Assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the Fire Protection or Low Voltage Electrical Industry as a project manager, estimator, or engineer.

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed

  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

  • Technical knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems

  • Exceptional presentation, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and organize work

  • Proficient in the use of personal computers to include operating systems such as Windows / Microsoft Office / Lotus Notes

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
