Vectrus Warehouse Specialist (CIF/CDL) in Fort Liberty, North Carolina

Working at the Fort Liberty Central Issue Facility (CIF), the Warehouse Specialist with Commercial Driver’s License (WHS w/CDL) for a variety of warehousing duties included, but not limited to, verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receives, stores, stacks, or palletizes materials, and removes material from storage and prepares it for shipping. In addition, the WHS w/CDL will perform truck driver duties to include transporting loading and unloading CIF equipment as required.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Verifies material and merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.

  • Routes material and equipment to prescribed storage locations.

  • Properly stores, stacks or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.

  • Rearranges as necessary and takes inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.

  • Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.

  • Establishes and maintains stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting and supply reports.

  • Assists in taking inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.

  • Operating and maintaining forklifts and MHE related equipment.

  • May operate hand or power tools in performance of warehousing duties.

  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

  • Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective mask, safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat and eyewear in certain areas.

  • Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 45 pounds.

  • Must be able to stand and walk within work sites 6-8 hours a day in performance of duties.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with current Medical Examiner's Certificate.

  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Installation

  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.

  • Must be able to pass the standard background check.

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • NAC-I clearance required.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • Four (4) years or more experience in warehouse operations.

  • Four (4) years or more experience in driving and operating forklifts.

  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.

  • Valid Driver’s License without restrictions.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.

  • Other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
