Prairie St. John's has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, and intensive outpatient services. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 4,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's.

Our company is seeking a talented Intake Specialist to join our team. This position will be part-time 16 hours a week from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am including every other Thursday through Sunday. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating individuals and providing psychiatric evaluations as well as creating individualized treatment plans. This is a challenging and important position that requires a strong understanding of addiction medicine and the ability to effectively communicate with patients and their families. The ideal candidate has experience in a similar position, strong communication skills and compassion for providing the best care for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, document, and disseminate information to patients, hospitals, law enforcement officers, and judges.

  • Communicate with other healthcare professionals.

  • Provide crisis intervention for individuals with mental health issues.

  • Work in close proximity to psychiatric disorders.

  • Answer questions about the institution and its programs.

  • Provide a positive experience for patients.

  • Work as part of a team.

Qualifications

Previous health-care experience preferred.
