Job Title: Training Equipment Installation Co-Ordinator (TEIC)

Location(s): Portsmouth/UK travel

The Training Equipment Installation Co-Ordinator role is responsible to the Raytheon Selborne Training Equipment Project Management Team (TEPMT) Senior Project Manager (SPM) for the support of training equipment services within the Selborne contract. The role will be based in HMS Collingwood in Fareham and will require occasional travel to naval training sites across the UK.

Main Duties:

  • The roles main duties will include but not be limited to:

  • To support TEPMT on all aspects of training equipment installations, modifications, equipment removal and disposal programs in HMS Collingwood and across Selborne sites, meeting agreed Fit to Receive (FTR) or other tight deadlines to acceptable MCTA / SCIDA standards, as prioritized by SPM.

  • Monitor the day-to-day Health and Safety conformance of contractors on site, ensuring regulated H&S standards are adhered to by contractors.

  • To provide out of hours support as required.

  • Manage 4C’s Site H&S briefs to all TEPMT contractors as required iaw Establishment Standing Orders and maintain the TEPMT 4Cs documentation.

  • Manage the disposal of redundant TE via DESA iaw MOD procedures, ensuring legislative requirements are observed.

  • Provide visitor notifications for all TEPMT visitors/contractors to the Establishment Main gate staff (24 hours’ notice required)

  • Provide Hot Works Certification iaw current H&S Regulatory standards and monitor to completion of works.

  • Manage and raise Work Orders and Statement of Requirements to support Break-Fix, defect rectification for Training Equipment activity as directed by SPM.

  • Support Project Managers with the creation of Room Plans and room layouts for project documentation.

  • Act as building custodian and manage the TEIC lay apart stores and associated equipment within.

  • Manage the TEPMT H&S notice boards and relevant paperwork, along with delivering H&S Toolbox Talks and ‘Pause for Thought’ discussions to team members.

  • Maintain the TEPMT contractors electrical test certification database (original to ViVo, copy to TEPMT File)

  • Manage TEPMT contractors, review RAMS, Certification database and provide H&S advice to SPM on regulatory standards.

  • Engage with CWD F+M contractors and submit Approved Persons (AP) requests.

  • Act as the TEPMT H&S Representative and attend all relevant H&S monthly meetings/ briefs.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.

    Working knowledge and practical experience of:

  • Engineering/electrical principles practically in a military technical environment

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

  • ECDL or equivalent demonstrable proficiency in using IT hardware and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) within the workplace.

  • Experience with MS Visio and MS Project

  • Project management tools and applications.

  • UK MoD lifecycle maintenance procedures and processes.

Desirable:

Should have some experience in:

  • Recent experience of working within Defence/Industry collaborative projects.

  • A working knowledge of MoD regulations and procedures relating to equipment maintenance and lifecycle management.

  • Experience project management tools and applications.
