Overview

The Senior Estimator - EST4 is responsible for generating project estimates and acting as a bid captain.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

• General System Knowledge: The individual will be required to review project documents and understand system sizing and layout, equipment packages, value engineering principles, and system design strategies.

• Take-off: Producing quantitative material and labor take-offs.

• Conceptual Design: Responsible for developing conceptual estimate strategies and associated documentation. Also prepare estimate proposals, lead scope reviews, and be involved in conceptual estimating.

• QA/QC: Provide quality control checks of other employee's work output and participate in the peer review process of estimate summaries.

• Estimate Generation: Generate estimate summaries based on scope-specific criteria including material/equipment takeoffs, sub/vendor quotes, and business unit specific parameters.

• Bid Captain: The individual will perform bid captain duties. They will occasionally take lead on project bids, with support from more senior-level estimators on larger and more complex projects.

• Mentoring of Other Employees: Responsible for the mentorship of less experienced take-off personnel and bid captains.

• Business Development: Assist in the pursuit and procurement of either design or construction work.

• Operational Support: Assist multiple BUs in helping to vet project opportunities and track prospects. This includes managing the bid list, producing bid submission and RFP response documentation, attending post-bid project interviews, and conducting handoff meeting for awarded projects.

• Public Speaking: Required to present to groups of 10 or more.

This position is Full-Time, Exempt/Non-Exempt, and reports to the Director of Engineering.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 8+ years- experience.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.

• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• CPD preferred.

Travel Requirements

• 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Climbing stairs.

• Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

• Quiet environment.

• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $76,100.00 - USD $101,600.00 /Yr.
