Description:

Seeking a Construction Material Technician to perform testing and inspection services for private, state, county, ODOT and other projects. Responsible for performing on-site testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt, steel, and more to ensure they meet project specifications. Documenting test results & field activities daily and communicating directly with owners reps, project managers, contractors and other on-site personnel. Local travel to job sites and overtime/ weekend work is required. Responsibilities: -Conducts quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel. -Performs construction administration and inspection services for state, county and local roadway and bridge projects and municipal utility or infrastructure projects. -Inspects construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans and/or proposals and bridge projects. -Verifies plan quantities and calculations with as bid plans, prepares and maintains project records and reports and performs other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer. -Notifies the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work. -Prepares and maintains project records and reports and performs other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer in a timely manner. Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Haves: -Either: Degree in geology, earth science, construction or related field; OR relevant construction background (i.e. concrete, asphalt, masonry, etc.) -High school diploma required -Valid drivers license required -Ability to work overtime including weekends as necessary Nice to Have: -Construction material testing/ inspection experience -ACI, Nuclear Gauge, NICET, NETTCP certifications
