Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with a strong background in masonry to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of construction methods and materials, as well as the ability to accurately assess project costs and prepare competitive bids. Masonry experience is preferred for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project requirements and scope of work.

  2. Conduct site visits and evaluations to assess project conditions, identify potential challenges, and gather necessary information for estimating.

  3. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to clarify project details and ensure accurate cost estimates.

  4. Analyze blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to determine quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for construction projects.

  5. Utilize estimating software and other tools to prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.

  6. Research material and labor costs, subcontractor bids, and market trends to ensure competitive pricing and profitability.

  7. Prepare and present bid proposals, including pricing breakdowns, to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.

  8. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best possible pricing and terms for materials and services.

  9. Maintain accurate records of project estimates, including revisions, addenda, and correspondence.

  10. Provide support to project teams during pre-construction and post-bid phases, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating.

  • Strong knowledge of masonry construction methods, materials, and techniques.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Experience with construction estimating software preferred.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to accurately calculate quantities and costs.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with construction industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
