Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Hardware Operator who will be responsible for operating and maintaining hardware equipment used in the production of our products. Your role will involve setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting hardware machinery, ensuring efficient production and adherence to quality standards. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate hardware machinery, such as drilling machines, cutting saws, lathes, milling machines, or other specialized equipment

  • Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure accurate and efficient production processes

  • Monitor machine operation to detect any abnormalities, malfunctions, or deviations from specifications

  • Perform hardware assembly tasks, including drilling, cutting, shaping, or attaching hardware components to products

  • Ensure precise measurements and alignment of hardware elements to meet quality standards and specifications

  • Conduct inspections to verify the integrity and functionality of hardware installations, making any necessary adjustments or corrections

  • Conduct regular inspections of hardware components and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards

  • Identify and address any defects, inconsistencies, or non-conformities in hardware installations or finishes

  • Collaborate with the quality control team to resolve issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent reoccurrence

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on hardware machinery, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts

  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement appropriate repairs or adjustments

  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians for more complex repairs or replacements when necessary

  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures

  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near-misses promptly to the appropriate personnel

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to equipment operation, safety, and quality standards

  • Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production data, and any maintenance or repairs performed

  • Complete production reports, inspection logs, and other relevant documentation as required

  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure accurate inventory management and replenishment of hardware supplies

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, or cost reduction in hardware operations

  • Propose and implement changes or modifications to equipment, procedures, or workflows to optimize productivity and quality

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a Hardware Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware machinery and equipment operation.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, or work instructions.

  • Ability to use precision measuring tools and instruments accurately.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
