Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our world-class Edge Critical Power operations. This pivotal role entails overseeing the Supply Chain Edge data centers and back-up critical power, including the management and maintenance of their physical infrastructure. The main focus of this position is to ensure the highest level of availability, while providing supervision to a team of exceptional engineers.

Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.

What you'll do:

  1. Infrastructure management: Managing the physical infrastructure of the Supply Chain Edge data centers, including power and cooling systems, and remote monitoring and alarm systems. This includes ensuring proper installation, maintenance, and upgrading of equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

  2. Project Management: Responsible for the overall coordination, planning, and execution of the Supply Chain Edge data centers project management team.

  3. Availability management: Ensuring the availability of power distribution systems by implementing redundancy and maintaining backup power systems to maintain infrastructure resiliency minimizing the risk of downtime.

  4. Capacity planning: Monitoring and managing the capacity of the Supply Chain Edge data centers infrastructure to support current and future business needs. This involves analyzing system performance, predicting future resource requirements, and planning for equipment upgrades, expansions, and life cycle.

  5. Incident management: Responding to and resolving technical issues and incidents that occur within the Supply Chain Edge data centers. This includes coordinating and communicating troubleshooting electrical distribution, HVAC, back-up power systems, and remote monitoring system problems, coordinating with vendors and engineers for repairs, and ensuring timely resolution of issues to minimize downtime.

6.Team management: Leading and managing a team of engineers responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Supply Chain Edge data centers. This includes assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring the team is trained on the latest technologies and best practices.

  1. Compliance: Ensuring the Supply Chain Edge data center physical infrastructure comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as OSHA and industry-specific regulations. This includes maintaining documentation, conducting audits, and implementing necessary controls to meet compliance requirements.

What you'll bring:

  1. Technical expertise: A successful candidate should have a deep understanding of data center operations, including knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and building management systems. The candidate should also have knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, and demonstrate proficiency in computer skills including typing, email communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  2. Leadership and management skills: A successful candidate should possess strong leadership qualities to effectively guide and motivate their team. They should be able to set clear goals, delegate tasks, and provide guidance and support to their team members. Additionally, they should have excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and other departments.

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities: A successful candidate will often face complex challenges and must be adept at quickly analyzing situations, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions. They should be able to make informed decisions based on the available information and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient operations.

A successful candidate should prioritize organization, implement effective documentation practices, and have a keen eye for detail to ensure that all processes and procedures are followed accurately.

  5. Adaptability and flexibility: Edge data center management can be unpredictable, with potential emergencies and rapidly changing technology requirements. A successful candidate should be adaptable and flexible, able to quickly adjust plans and strategies to meet evolving needs and challenges.

  6. Continuous learning and staying updated: Edge data center technologies and best practices are constantly evolving. A successful candidate should have a desire for continuous learning and staying updated on the latest industry trends, advancements, and security protocols. This allows them to implement innovative solutions and keep the data center operation at the forefront of industry standards.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
