The Microsoft Advertising Global Revenue and Business Planning (GRBP) team is responsible for managing the online advertising business for Microsoft and its partner online publishers. We drive Microsoft’s strategy in the advertising space with a mission of connecting advertisers to their target audience across multiple mediums and devices. We help empower the monetization engine for Microsoft’s and third-party publishers’ online search, display, native, and video ads services. We have a broad responsibility for network quality and policy, business planning and forecasting, performance management including delivering operational insights, monetization programs, all of which are critical to ensuring the long-term health of our paid search business, providing global and scalable reporting and forecasting capabilities to all business and sales teams in collaboration with Engineering through our Shared Data Services (SDS) team.

We are currently seeking a talented program manager with a background in computer science, data science and machine learning, management information systems, and data-centric product management. This person will focus on helping support and improve our large-scale business intelligence platform.

SDS drives monetization, demand, and supply improvements with all groups including engineering, customer service operations, advertising sales and marketing, insights management, and product management working across publishers, advertisers and optimizing across the overall network. We develop and maintain highly integrated reporting platforms and tools enabling extensive self-service analytical capabilities to turn data into actionable insights for business stakeholders around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Work across disciplines to document business requirements, design reporting prototypes, and implement scalable business intelligence infrastructure supporting 500+ end users.

  • Maintain and continually enhance secured and highly advanced hybrid cloud-based reporting platforms hosting complex key performance indicators for global network platforms, supply, and demand performance, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Collaborate in maintaining and improving complex multi-faceted business intelligence platforms with critical implementation deadlines and service level agreements.

  • Facilitate documentation and communication among functional groups, lead problem-solving efforts, and maintain open lines of communication with business stakeholders.

  • Assist or lead development and implementation of large-scale business intelligence data integration automation and reporting projects.

  • Help maintain effective and accurate product roadmaps in alignment with marketplace strategic planning.

  • Document, plan, and provide hands-on technical training, sell ideas, concepts, and services, and inspire shared visions and teamwork within multiple organizations with varied functional focuses.

  • Generate scalable and actionable business intelligence insights to improve the advertising platform, increasing both long-term revenue and relevance.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program management or technical product management required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or related data sciences field preferred

  • 3+ years expert hands-on proficiency with scripting and programming and modeling languages including C#, TSQL, DAX, PySpark, etc. preferred.

  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Business Intelligence products suite, including SQL Server, Azure Data Warehouse & Factory, Azure Data Explorer, Tabular Cubes, Power Platform Applications, Databricks, etc.

  • 3+ years hands-on experience and advanced proficiency in data science functions and data visualization.

  • Highly seasoned in time management, multitasking, and simultaneously handling multiple current and future commitments in a rapidly fluid and growing environment.

  • Team player and strong interpersonal skills managing internal and external partner relationships.

  • Ability to communicate information effectively, create effective program stories of impact, able to evangelize and influence across multiple audiences and at all levels in the organization.

  • Previous work experience in the online advertising industry or search industry experience a plus.
