This role can be full-time OR part-time working with clients in our clinic, in AVONDALE, ARIZONA.
This position involves working on an interdisciplinary team and collaborating with clinical leaders from all of our programs, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, ABA therapy, counseling, diagnostics and more! Job Summary
Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) are primarily responsible for providing speech therapy and other related services in the organization’s Speech and Language Services program under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide direct treatment, identified by the supervising SLP, by following the written individualized treatment plans
Implement therapy goals in an individual setting and facilitate the in a group setting, addressing social language skills
Perform duties as directed involving data collection and record keeping for all services delivered
Participate in initial and ongoing training and/or shadowing from supervisors, parents, and other therapy team members as appropriate, including demonstration of current programs
Offer intervention strategies to families for speech and language goals and objectives
Communicate & collaborate regularly and openly with supervisors, therapy team members, providers and parents/guardians of the child/client
Accurate and timely submittal of paperwork, including data reports, timesheets, etc.
Work collaboratively and communicate with parents and families in a manner that emphasizes family-centered services
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, or related field with required coursework
Completion of certified training program for Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
SLPA license from the Arizona Department of Health Services
Sufficient knowledge and experience to provide 1-to-1 speech therapy, social group facilitation, parent training classes, and other relevant services
1+ years of experience with speech therapy required.
Proficient with computers and email
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Strong reading, writing and oral communication skills
High ability to listen to and interpret needs of child and family
Enthusiasm and positive attitude towards all people; solid team player and open to new ideas
Ability to multi-task, independently plan and organize own activities with minimal supervision
Successfully pass a fingerprint clearance check and other related hiring requirements
