Materials Manager wanted in Auburn Hills, Michigan to ensure MP&L plans and actions are carried out to drive the organization to meet or exceed planned sales and profitability targets with second-to-none OTIF delivery; Establish a system to create and regularly update MPSs and MRPs within the business and ensure these schedules and plans are communicated throughout the business and rigorously adhered to; Be an important member of the team developing capacity models and manufacturing plans to meet current as well as future business needs and growth objectives; Day to day management of all aspects of the MP&L team incorporating customer demand, material requirement, capacity planning, generation of manufacturing and dispatch plans; Ensure the business is adhering to or surpassing the cost plans and create / maintain a regular reporting structure to drive continuous improvement in cost control and cost reduction; Administration of customer orders confirming lead-time are in line with quotation and driving continuous improvement in lead-times and OTIF; Manage the MP&L team and processes to identify risks and mitigate / resolve these risks before they occur; Develop and act upon meaningful and focused MP&L KPI's including the creation of regular reports incorporating current performance as well as improvement plans; onboard standards for training new equipment operators relative to automotive seating manufacturing and programs; conduct warehouse racking inspections, training and monthly inspections related to automotive seating programs and products; create standards for inbound automotive seating materials receiving; implement standardized work for JIT materials' positions related to automotive seat products; initiate logistics cost savings programs; create conveyance and doc routes based on knowledge of automotive seating materials requirements; and analyze customer engineering requirements for fluctuations related to materials.  Be a key contributor to the process to control "bills of materials" and labour standard cost sheets Manage the Supply Demand Review process across all areas of the business ensuring this process is embedded, actively implemented and continuously improved Management of the company warehouse and all processes relating to receipt and dispatch of materials and goods.
