The HVAC Sheetmetal Foreman / Installer performs skilled journeyman work in fabricating, installing, and repairing sheet metal equipment and fixtures with a minimum of waste. Work is performed with much independence using standard trade practices and is reviewed in process or upon completion to insure conformity with specifications and accepted standard of craftsmanship.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lays out patterns, shapes, and fabricates sheet metal on such assignments as installing or repairing containers, fixtures, and flashings, and ventilating and air conditioning ducts.

  • Lays out and forms angle iron racks, table stands, metal frames, doors, and guards for windows.

  • Leads and trains Apprentices with the installation of HVAC equipment and devices.

  • Solders, rivets, and seams a variety of articles in construction or repair work.

  • Repairs metal filing cases, cabinets, lockers, and counters.

  • Operates such equipment as sheet metal forming machines, folders, shears, cutters, and crimpers.

  • Applies thorough knowledge of materials, practices, equipment, and tools of the sheet metal working trade; of characteristics, uses and adaptabilities of light metals; of hazards and safety precautions of trade.

  • Lifts heavy objects and works from ladders, scaffolding, scissor-lifts, or boom lifts at heights on a routine basis.

  • Performs other related work as assigned.

    Experience, Training, and/or Certifications:

  • 3 years of commercial HVAC/Sheet Metal experience required.

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly, including under stressful situations.

  • Demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.

  • Make decisions and / or take actions to resolve work issues.

  • Take an intentional approach to safety for all employees on your jobsite.

  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision.

  • Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 60 lbs.

  • Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials.

  • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.

  • Ability to pass a physical ability test.

  • Ability to travel, as needed, for projects.
