AZCO Assistant Estimator (Appleton) in Appleton, Wisconsin

Description

The Assistant Estimator assists in preparing estimates for engineering and design-build construction projects. This position will assist in preparing lump sum bids, proposals, unit cost, and quantities for various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.

  • Assist in quantifying scopes of work for material and labor pricing.

  • Assist with soliciting, evaluating and pre-qualifying small and disadvantaged businesses and subcontractors.

  • Assist in assembling and sending out subcontractor bid packages.

  • Assist in preparing material, specialty and standard equipment pricing.

  • Assist in preparing subcontractor labor market studies and pricing for bids.

  • Assist in documenting cost history, data base management and estimating process.

  • Assist in developing project summary schedules.

  • Assist with the evaluating and conditioning subcontractor and supplier quotes.

  • Assist in presenting estimates to external and internal clients.

  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.

  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant degree Required or

  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Required

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Software knowledge such as Quotesoft, Accubid, Oracle, and PowerBI desired.

  • Knowledge of document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.
