SUMMARY

The Senior Specialist, B2B Content is responsible for the strategic development, execution, and management of SHRM’s B2B flagship and sales enablement content. This role demands a strategic thinker who can blend high-impact content strategies with practical sales support mechanisms to enhance SHRM’s branding and sales effectiveness. The position requires close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and external partners, ensuring that both flagship content and sales materials are timely, relevant, and aligned with corporate goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Development & Execution: Support the design and implementation of content strategies that effectively engage targeted B2B audiences and enhance SHRM’s branding initiatives. 

  • Content Production: Help manage the creation, development, and editing of content across various formats including articles, video, podcast, case studies, presentations, guides, and enablement assets ensuring they meet quality standards. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to maximize the impact of content, maintain consistent messaging across all platforms, and understand B2B needs, challenges, and feedback regarding sales content and messaging.

  • Project Management: Assist in managing project timelines, coordinating with agencies, freelancers, and internal teams, and tracking expenses within allocated budgets. 

  • Research and Ideation: Support the ideation process and contribute to in-depth stories that provide unique insights into significant corporate and industry trends. 

  • Innovation: Keep abreast of industry trends, economic changes, and global events to suggest improvements in content strategies and incorporation of new media technologies. 

  • Relationship Cultivation: Build and maintain relationships with key industry players, corporate leaders, and subject matter experts to secure exclusive information and insights. 

  • Performance Analysis: Assist in monitoring and reporting on the content initiatives’ performance, using data to suggest strategies for better engagement and broader reach. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, or a related field.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in content strategy and creation, particularly with B2B audiences, and a portfolio showcasing excellent storytelling and editorial skills.

  • Experience in digital media, including SEO, social media marketing, and content management systems (Adobe Experience Manager preferred).

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage content projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of content marketing strategies, market segmentation, and the ability to execute content projects from conception through execution.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to produce clear, compelling narratives for a diverse audience.

  • Analytical skills to distill complex information into accessible and engaging content.

  • Proficiency in digital media tools, multimedia storytelling techniques, and content management systems.

  • Understanding of business principles, economic concepts, and the dynamics of corporate environments.

  • Adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Project management skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality content under deadlines.

  • Passionate about SHRM's mission and committed to advancing the HR profession

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of performing essential duties with reasonable accommodations.

  • Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, and typing, with visual acuity required for keyboard usage, data analysis, and computer terminal operation.

  • Occasional light lifting may be necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • Expected office presence of 3 days per week.

  • Minimal travel requirements, less than 10%

The hiring range for this position is $83,000 to $97,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
